SHOOTING FOR THE STARS

Arnold Van Opstal for Village Sports Club

As the Village Sports Club in the South bolsters up its campaign to take the way

you play to a whole new level, Arnold Van Opstal reveals how pleased he is to be one of its new Brand Ambassadors.

“I can really see myself get better and achieve my goals here”, the towering 6’9” De La Salle Archers Center confidently replied when asked why. You see, Arnold has always been a go-getter. He got into basketball in high school and started training professionally 11 years ago. Since holding his first basketball, his goal hasn’t changed. “I want to be a winner”, he said. And being a winner requires discipline and passion beyond ordinary basketball player standards.

With successes like UAAP Most Improved Player in 2013, UAAP Champion and PCCL Champion for the De La Salle Green Archers in the same year, Arnold believes he still has a long way to go. “I’m proud of winning the UAAP Championship, definitely. But my passion and love for the sport continually motivates me to dig deep down to work harder.”

Nobody understands this more than the Village Sports Club. If the player has the desire, the Village Sports Club provides the means. It has an indoor basketball court designed specifically to improve one’s game –with a FIBA-approved maple flooring that’s world-renowned for its dependable grip and traction to athlete’s footwear. Thus, boosting performance and eliminating the risk of injuries.

On top of that, Arnold added, “The Village Sports Club provides a leisurely and professional atmosphere. Sports teaches you a lot of lessons in life. And if life’s a game, I’d love to play it here.”
