Aguilar Calls on IT Graduates To Go Beyond Their Goal

Some 1,238 new graduates of information courses at Dr. Filemon C. Aguilar Information Technology Training Institute (DFCAITTI) in Las Piñas were challenged by Mayor Vergel ‘Nene’ Aguilar to go beyond their goal in the pursuit of their career.

This year’s batch Echo completed the courses in Visual Graphics & 2D Animation and Computer Programming & Hardware Servicing, which are offered free of tuition fee from the city-run IT school. The DFCAITTI scholars are graduates of the city’s public school and the mayor urged them pursue higher learning to enhance their skills, coupled with positive attitude to ensure success. “It is a commitment and my legacy to provide free, quality and accessible public school education to our youths to help shape their future,” Aguilar said.

Aside from the free tuition, the students are likewise given free rides going to and from school to ease the burden of parents for their transport fares.  Tricycle operators in barangay Pamplona III were commissioned by the city government to provide free rides to the IT scholars. The modern and fully-equipped three storey-25-classroom DFCAITTI located at Doña Manuela Subdivision in Barangay Pamplona III, offers courses like Web Development, Graphic Design and Animation, Networking Professional and Programming.  Aguilar pointed out that his aim is not only to provide students the basics skills and technology know-how to help them to be globally competitive and be able to improve he lot of their families as well. “Providing students the basic skills and know-how on information technology, very much crucial in the country’s development and other countries, is a step towards self- upliftment and open more opportunities for them,” Aguilar said.
